Skills Bootcamps are a new Government-funded initiative designed to give you the skills required to reboot your own career, improve existing employees’ skills or help you access talented staff for your business needs in up to 16 weeks.

The start dates of our wave 3 bootcamps has now passed.  This page will be updated when the new bootcamps become available.

Who is eligible?

Skills Bootcamps are available to individuals and employers within the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Authority area.

Skills bootcamps are 100% free for those:

Age 19+ by 31st August 2022

Unemployed or self-employed

A career change/returner

Serving prisoners due to be released within 6 months of completion of a Skills Bootcamp

Employer funding

Businesses in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough can access funding depending upon their size

  • SME's can access 90% of funding available
  • Large organisations can access 70% of funding available

If you are an employer that is interested in accessing funding to upskill existing employees, you will need to register your interest directly with the Bootcamp provider. The Bootcamp provider will discuss the funding level with you, as to whether it will be a 10% employer contribution per cost of the course per employee, or a 30% contribution per cost of the course per employee.

The employer will make the contribution payment directly to the Training Provider. The Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authorities will pay the remainder of the cost over the course of the Bootcamp to the Training Provider.
