About Your Careers Hub

The first Careers Hubs were established by the Careers and Enterprise Company in 2019 with an initial wave of twenty created. There are now 45 Careers Hubs covering most of the country.

Careers Hubs bring together schools, colleges, employers, and apprenticeship providers in local areas across England. The goal is to make it easier for schools and colleges to improve how they prepare young people for their next steps.

Careers Hubs drive progress against the Gatsby Benchmarks by enabling schools and colleges and their Careers Leaders to access training and support, and to collaborate in a focussed way, bringing together best practice and local labour market insight.

Hubs offer schools and colleges dedicated support from the local hub team and facilitate partnerships with key employers committed to improving careers across an area.

A key element of the Careers Hub is the Enterprise Adviser Network made up of volunteers from the world of work who are matched with an individual school or college helping them to develop their careers offer to students.

September 2022 saw the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Careers expand to include all state funded schools for students aged 11 to 18.

Enterprise Advisors

Enterprise Advisers are a key part of the Careers Hub. Volunteers from the world of work they are matched with a school or college to help them develop their careers programme for students.

Their involvement helps to make careers “real” for students ensuring that the delivery of careers programmes take into account the world of work helping to provide students with inspiration and aspiration.

Ask your Careers Leader who your Enterprise Adviser is and how they can support you in your role.
